Our mission statement: Community Education for Development (CED) is a fully registered 501 ( c) (3) non-profit organization based in Fayette, Ohio, with the purpose of creating community education programs that support and promote individual and community empowerment and development through education and training.
The focus of the organization is to provide individual and group development support in the Fayette community and surrounding area through various educational programs. These include increased conventional and digital literacy, study skills and general learning skills training, life skills education, mental health, nutrition and wellness, community gardens, and a safe and functional after school place with food.

Acquiring the skills and critical thinking necessary for any job. Interview preparation and job search tools and skills addressed.
Parenting & Family Relationships
Creating conversations about how to relate and get along as parents and within family situations.
Mental Health and Wellness
Youth and adults will have access to general education about maintaining mental wellness as well as access to support services in the area.
Wellness & Nutrition
Understanding today's food and eating trends to intelligently evaluate nutritional information decisions. Meal planning, healthy food purchasing guides and meal preparation.
Land Trades Training
Online land tech courses and on-site trades training.
Literacy Development
Using coding technology and after school support to improve literacy skills and project-based problem solving. Developing reading and writing skills to successfully communicate and comprehend at any level.
Professional Communication & Customer Service
Gaining insight into communicating professionally and clearly in various work situations and explaining services with specific professional and work situations.
Leadership and Life Skills
Onsite and online sessions in identifying and development leadership skills and working with others on a team. Decision making, problem solving and sharing and developing ideas are also addressed in real life contexts.
CED is working with the Fayette School Superintendent, the Fulton County Commissioner, Fulton County Economic Development, Fulton County Family Services and the Fayette Area Churches.

Programs & Projects

CED provides various community programs throughout the year. Some of these programs are for adults and some are for school children and teens. CED partners with the local churches and schools to ensure that everyone in Fayette knows about the programs. Updates and information about these programs are available on our FaceBook page.

This is a summer program for children from grades 3-6 that provides active learning opportunities through creative learning projects and activities.

CED partners with the local TACKLE and Fulton County Health professionals to provide opportunities for teens to discuss mental health issues and challenges.

This program meets on Mondays and Tuesdays after school throughout the school year. CED partners with the local schoolteachers to provide active learning opportunities, literacy development and critical thinking through learning activities and projects.

This project provides learning opportunities for children and teens to grow plants and herbs – it also provides rental opportunities for adults to grow plants and vegetables for their own use.

These sessions are provided in the spring and are provided in partnership with various local nutritionists, herbologists, and wellness professionals. All are welcome.

CED is sponsoring an annual Farmers’ Market to provide and opportunity for local growers to sell their produce.

CED is planning to set up a coffee shop in Fayette in response to the youth community surveys in which the desire for a coffee shop “hang out” has been communicated. The overall goal is that there will be community meetings and activities held in the coffee shop building as well.
